Manoir d’Autoire
A 17th Century manor house on 5 acres in one of the “Most Beautiful Villages of France” and located next door to the iconic Chateau de Limargue, from the late 16th century.
The manor is just a short walk away from Autoire’s 90 foot waterfall, and from the Château des Anglais, inhabited during the 100 Years War, built into the cliffs above the village.
Enjoy the Dordogne River and Rocamadour, Lascaux Caves, hiking, cycling, kayaking, and the Cahors vineyards.
Ten minutes from 2 other “Most Beautiful Villages of France”’, Loubressac and Carennac, and 30 min from another one, Collonges-la-Rouge.
Lodging
Unique stone manor house & beautiful gardens. FOUR BEDROOMS available to rent; three have their own bath, and one bedroom has an adjoining room with twin beds, ideal for families. Three bedrooms have double beds, and another has twin beds.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served in the dining room, or on the terrace, weather permitting.
Gardens
Manor house, with private courtyard, sunny terraces, large garden with stream offer guests many options to relax, read, explore.
We have several ducks and 2 donkeys on the property.
We love the Dordogne Valley for its pristine beauty and easy access to hiking, cycling, kayaking, the numerous theater and music festivals and amazing local produce. Many painters, writers and sculptors and photographers find inspiration here. We enjoy hosting B&B guests in our old stone home in Autoire, a village near castles, caves, rivers, vineyards, brocantes – located halfway between Paris and Barcelona.

There are 2 sweet donkeys who live in an enclosed pasture across the stream from our house, and there are several ducks who swim in the pond and live in their own stone outbuilding.
Autoire, Lot, France
Several cafés and 2 restaurants in the village of Autoire. Excellent hiking, cycling right out the front door, including a 90 foot waterfall, only 15 minutes away. The town of Saint Céré, 7 kilometers away, has all types of shops and services. The Dordogne River is 20 min away, perfect for swimming and kayaking. Cahors and Brive are both a 40 minute drive.
Local Transporation
Rental car is the best option. Trains are available from 2 nearby towns: Bretenoux/Biars and Gramat. The nearest airport, Brive Dordogne Valley Airport, is a 1 hour drive. We are 2 hours north of Toulouse airport, and 1.5 hours from Limoges and Rodez airports, and 3 hours from Bordeaux.
